SSC CPO SI exam pattern and syllabus

SSC(Staff Selection Commission) has released the notification today for the recruitment of SI(Sub Inspector) in Delhi Police, SI(Sub Inspector) in CAPFs(Central Armed Police Forces) and ASI(Assistant Sub Inspector) in CISF(Central Industrial Security Force), SSC CPO SI exam pattern and syllabus

Dates of Computer Based Examinations:

  • Paper-I: 04-06-2018 to 10-06-2018
  • Paper-II: 01-12-2018

☛ What are the posts available under this recruitment project for freshers?

The posts which are available in this recruitment project are:-

  • Sub-Inspector (GD) in CAPFs : (Central Armed Police Forces)
  • Sub Inspector (Executive) – (Male/ Female) in Delhi Police
  • Assistant Sub-Inspector (Executive) in CISF (Central Industrial Security Force)

The number of vacancies are 1223

☛ Will the exam be conducted online or offline (OMR Based)?

Paper-I and Paper-II will be conducted in online mode. The examination will consist of Paper-I, Physical Standard Test (PST)/ Physical Endurance Test (PET), Paper-II and Detailed Medical Examination (DME).

 What is the Structure of Examination?
The structure of the examinations which will be conducted online are as follows:

Eye sight:

The minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of two eyes without correction i.e. without wearing of glasses.

➡The candidate must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high colour vision.

➤➤Physical Efficiency(Endurance) Test(PET) ( For all posts)

Only those candidates, who have scored above the cut off marks fixed by the Commission in Paper I would be required to appear in the Physical Endurance Test/Medical examination.

Physical endurance test will not carry any marks but will be of qualifying/ elimination nature. 

For male candidates only

  • 100 meters race in 16 seconds
  • 1.6 Kms race in 6.5 minutes
  • Long Jump : 3.65 metres in 3 chances
  • High Jump : 1.2 metres in 3 chances
  • Shot put (16 Lbs): 4.5 metres in 3 chances

For female candidates only

  • 100 metres race in 18 seconds
  • 800 metres race in 4 minutes
  • Long Jump: 2.7 metres (9 feet) in 3 chances.
  • High Jump : 0.9 metres (3 feet) in 3 chances.

Only those candidates who qualified in PET/ PST will be called for Paper-II and the Medical Examination would be conducted subsequently.

➤➤Medical Examination 

  • All the candidates who qualify in the PET will be medically examined by the Medical Officer of the CAPFs or any other Medical Officer or Assistant Surgeon belonging to Grade I of any Central/ State Govt. Hospital or Dispensary.
  • Candidates who are found to be unfit, will be informed of the position and they can make an appeal before Review Medical Board within the prescribed time limit of 15 days. 
  • Decision of Re-Medical Board/Review Medical Board will be final and no appeal/ representation against the decision of the ReMedical Board/Review Medical Board will be entertained.

➤➤Final Selection / Merit : 

The merit list will be drawn on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the Written Examination and Physical Efficiency Test.

 What is the age criteria to apply in this common written exam?

  • Minimum Age: 20 years 
  • Maximum Age: 25 years

The crucial date of age-limit will be calculated with reference to 01-08-2018

 What is the educational qualification required for various posts in this recruitment process?

A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree From a Recognised University Or Equivalent.  

 What is the application Fee?

  • Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 100/-
  • Last date for submission of applications:2nd April 2018 (up to 5PM)
  • Fee can be paid through SBI Challan/ SBI Net banking or through credit/ debit cards of any bank.
  • Candidates who wish to make the payment through challan of SBI, may make the payment to designated branches of SBI within the working hours of bank upto 5th April 2018. 

 Is there a criterion for negative marking?

There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
